1. Collingwood Net Resumes
After a summer hiatus, the Collingwood Amateur Radio Club has resumed
its weekly two metre net, every Thursday at 7 pm, on the VA3ROG
(Blue Mountain) repeater, 145.37 (-), 156.7 Hz tone. All are welcome
to check in. The club has also resumed its monthly meetings, second
Tuesday of the month at 7 pm, at the Collingwood Town Hall.

2. 30 Meter Multi Mode Weekend
On October 27 and 28, the 30 Meter Digital Group (30MDG) will
celebrate its 5th anniversary with a "30 Meter Multi Mode Weekend"
event. The objective is to promote the use of different digital
modes on the unique 30 Meter Band. It's not a contest; there are no
exchanges, log submissions, or trophies. For more information visit

3. York Region Hamfest
The York Region Amateur Radio Club will hold its 36th hamfest on
Saturday, November 3, at the Markham Fair Grounds, at the northeast
corner of McCowan Road and Elgin Mills Road (10801 McGowan Road) in
Markham. General admission at 9 am; talk-in on VE3YRA repeater,

4. CQ seeks WPX Contest Director
The appointment of Randy Thompson, K5ZD, as director of the CQ World
Wide DX Contest has created an opening for director of the CQ WPX
Contest. Interested contesters are invited to apply. You must be an
experienced contester with particular knowledge of the WPX Contest,
must be a proven administrator, able to work well with other people
and to meet deadlines for submitting material for publication in CQ.

5. Accessible Emergency Preparedness Info
The Northeast Texas Public Health District has compiled 18 Emergency
Preparedness Topics and formatted the information to be friendly to
deaf, blind, and limited sight populations. The information is in
video and downloadable document format for public use, at no charge.
