1. RAC Website development news:

The redesigned RAC website has started to make its appearance.
For an early look at the new design, follow the link on the RAC home page and
log in with your primary callsign (not your membership number) and existing password.

2. CANWARN Training May 10-15

CANWARN training will be offered on the following dates:

Cornwall, May 10, 9 AM, at the OPG St. Lawrence Power Visitor Centre,
2500B 2nd St. West

Dufferin County, May 13, 7 PM, at the Amaranth-East Garafraxa Town
Hall, 374028 6th Line, Amaranth

Kitchener, May 15, 7 PM, at Bingemans Conference Centre, 425
Bingemans Centre Drive

3. Ham Radio on CTV Barrie

CTV Barrie has produced a video introducing Ham Radio to their viewing audience.
The footage was shot during an exercise in Orangeville with the Dufferin ARES group.
Jason Miles VE3TYG was instrumental in putting this together. John Corby VA3KOT and Bert
Morgan VA3BMY also assisted. It was a awesome performance from every one.
It takes a minute to buffer, so be patient..

4. 2014 World Radiosport Team Championship Locations announced.

From July 9th through 14th, 2014 the world's top amateur radio operators will converge on towns spanning the Route 495 corridor in New England.
WRTC2014 pits 59 two-operator teams, representing 38 countries, in a battle of operating skill and strategy under emergency field conditions. Competing teams were selected from around the world in a series of 55 qualifying events over a 3-year period.
Top teams will operate for the entire 24-hour competition using ssb and cw in an effort to contact as many stations and countries as possible to earn the distinction of “the best in the world.”
This year there are 5 Canadian hams competing on four of the 59 teams.

5. Smiths Falls Flea Market

The Rideau Lakes Amateur Radio Club will hold its 30th annual flea
market on Saturday, May 10, in the Smiths Falls Curling Club on Old
Sly's Road in Smiths Falls. This is the same location as last year.
General admission at 9 am; talk-in on VE3RLR repeater, 147.21 (+).
