3. December is YOTA Month

During the entire month of December, stations in many countries will
be on the air with the YOTA (Youngsters On The Air) suffix. YOTA is a
fast-growing event, with more youngsters asking to participate every
week. By making YOTA popular we can all help to get youngsters
active in ham radio.

YOTA stations will be trying to make lots of contacts, so take this
opportunity to connect young operators in their teens and 20s with
their peers on the air. YOTA is not limited to Europe only -- this
will be the first worldwide YOTA event. For more information visit

4. Real Time Band Conditions Website

A new website, www.bandconditions.com, provides up-to-the-minute HF
band condition information to amateur radio operators. The data is
based on a new Ionospheric Sounding method called "H F Ionospheric
Interferometry" which operates very similarly to the PolSAR system
used by NASA. Reports are generated and uploaded to the web server
every 30 seconds.
