KANNEGIESSER, Herbert Paul - Passed away peacefully at the Westbury Long-term Care Residence in Toronto on Oct 18, 2013 at age 97. Loving father of Mark and wife Jill, and grand-daughter Loren and husband Chris Scott. Also survived by sisters Dorothy Lalande and Molly Zufelt of North Bay and many favourite nieces and nephews. Ashes to be privately interred at Terrace Lawn Cemetery in North Bay. Herb made many friends during his life in North Bay. His great enjoyments were family, ham radio and electronics, politics, reading, and music.

Due to the renewal date for the RAC liability insurance (submission deadline has moved from Dec 1st to Nov 1st), we have moved our membership year to start in September.
If you have not already done so, can you please drop me a line at va3pc@rac.ca or va3pc@ciinet.org indicating your intentions to renew your club membership.
We have dropped our NBARC membership dues this year to reflect the early renewal time, RAC members dues are $10, non-RAC members are $20.
Our October 2013 meeting will be held next Wednesday October 9th, 2013 starting at 1930ET. If you weren't there last month we are at the NEW location. The OPP RHQ Community Boardroom - 911A Gormanville Rd. North Bay. Continue up Gormanville Rd. past the drive we used to use and the big silver building towards the hill and turn right into the next driveway just before you start up the hill. Doors will be open about 1915ET as usual.
There will be reports on The Northern Ontario Hamfest, and The Run off the Grid.
The Northern Ontario Hamfest is this coming Saturday September 14, 2013 in Garson. I am driving and have 2 free seats if you want to come. Meet out the front of Northgate Square under the sign. Leaving at 0730ET. Will stop at Timmys for coffee etc. The club has a table and if you have stuff to sell you can use the club table. 10% of sales to the club please.

Repeaters: Paul gave a report on the loss of the IRLP/Echolink and I-gate. All working well now. Has a power supply for VE3NFM-15. Will repair when able.

I hope you all had a good summer. Yes it was a bit cool and wet at times but it kept the forest fire rating low AND my well didn't run dry. The little things in life.
