1. CANWARN Training, April 10-16
CANWARN training will be offered in Windsor on Monday, April 12th, 7
pm, at the Caboto Club, 2175 Parent Avenue.
CANWARN training will be offered in London on Tuesday, April 13th, 7
pm, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, 1150 Wellington Road.
If you plan to attend a CANWARN session, please confirm by email to
canwarn.ontarioregion (at) ec.gc.ca.

ITEMS OF INTEREST
2. AMSAT use on Boy Scouts Anniversary
AMSAT-NA is supporting the Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary
Jamboree by dedicating an AO-51 V/U FM repeater for the event. From
Friday April 16, 15:00 UTC until Sunday April 18 19:00 UTC, an AO-51
repeater will be allocated for Jamboree use. All users are requested
to give way to Jamboree stations or QSO's with Jamboree stations.
The frequencies used will be 145.880 FM uplink, and 435.150 FM
downlink, no PL tone required.

3. Passport to World Band Radio closing
The publishers of Passport to World Band Radio, who ceased
publication of their print guide in 2009, are now shutting down their
web site. According to an announcement on www.passband.com, it will
be closed in late March.

4. New Version of HAMCALC
George Murphy, VE3ERP, has released HAMCALC version 118. This popular
package of simple calculators now includes a Filter Tutor, a Filter
Impedance Matching utility, a calculator on the Cark Y Airfoil, and
upgrades the Stripline-Bandpass Filter, Humidex, and Wind Chill

5. Winding Your Own Transformers
If you want to know how to wind your own power transformer to repair
