I still have not received answer to a few of my questions?
late years race?
1) Did we use the repeater or was it simplex?
2) which check point would you like to work at?
Betty and I will be working out of check point 2 or 3 which ever one is not taken.
You will need a truck to get into cp 2... cp 3 I do believe is acessable by car if you are careful.
so far this is what I have set up:
Start / Finish: Drew VE3MAF, Lori VE3LOR,
Check point 1: VE3GMG, VA3BDR
Please bear with me, this is a very busy week for me, both at work and with my fund raising / volunteer efforts.
I do believe as in past years lunch will be provide, BUT, be prepared.... In past years lunch has been late, or has not arrive at a check points due to any number of logistical problems.
Bring snacks and drinks... Be prepared for the weather, fly dope, sun screen, chairs, hat, shelter..... Radios, antennas, batteries and anything else you may need to communicate.
I know it is still two weeks away but I need to get things set up for the Mattawa River Canoe race.
So far There are only 3 of us signed up. I really need about 8 people to run this event.
So if your are interested, I need you to sign up ASAP. I have to let the conservation authority know if we have enough people to do this event.
Thanks
It is nice to see so many volunteering to support the North Bay Triathlon.
VE3LOR won't be so lonely after all. 8-)
So far on the list: VE3LOR, VE3GMG, VE3YO,VA3BDR, KD8LWV, VA3CMX and maybe Bill VA3WAC
Below you will find some link to the triathlon site and to there map.
I will try to attach my map with the proposed checkpoints.
You may not be able to support all the check point buy from past experience you will know which ones are more important.
That's fabulous! The first event begins at 7:30, then 8:00, 8:15 and 9:30. I'll be at the registration area at Lee Park around 7:00 giving out volunteer t-shirts and having waiver forms signed. See you tomorrow. Marilyn
Hi Folks
I just received the above, so I will be on site about 07:00 hrs, stopping at Timmy's first.
The line up is as below. If you want to check in on the radio and go directly to your site that is ok.
We will be using ERX repeater 147.030 + if no joy on the repeater use 147.030 simplex
Field Day this year is June 25th and 26th. As luck would have it we don't have anything else scheduled so we are looking to try Field Day. We are looking for a site that doesn't have any cost or permits associated as time is very limited. So far the suggestions are Temagami Fire Tower and Callandar Park. We also need participation. If you would be interested in taking part in Field Day indicate so on the website or drop Doug VA3DLJ a note at va3dlj@yahoo.ca . If you have any site suggestions let Doug know as well.
