Lost in the Rocks and Trees

Body:

Hi Folks

Just getting my gear together for Lost in the Rocks and Trees.

I missed the event last year and the old memory is a bit slow.
Did we use the repeater last year, or was it simplex?

Were there any trouble spots?

What check point were you at?

Do you have a preference?

Any other requests..

Changes to paper work>

Please let me know asap, I am working on the logistical this evening.

Thanks

Bill

2012 triathlon

Body:

Hi Folks

The North Bay triathlon is this Sunday July 1st.

So far on the list of volunteers are:
VE3LOR, VE3YO, va3bdr, va3cmx, ve3gmg

We could use a few more people if you are available..... 8-) Please

I would also like feedback from anyone who took part in last years race.

John Wipprecht the bike section coordinator has a few concerns about sections of the race course and I would like to know if you have any concerns from past years.

A few were brought up at the June meeting and I had asked that they be emailed to me, but I have not received any information.

Patrick4Life 2012 Report

Body:

Patrick4Life event was held June 10th, 2012. The day started out mainly cloudy with a few rain showers but cleared up and the sun came out at the end. There were approximately 915 runners/walkers registered.

NBARC provided health and welfare communications. In attendance were Bill VA3SPT, Gerry VE3YO, Howard VE3GMG, Doug VA3DLJ, Paul VA3PC, Lori VE3LOR and yours truly. Things went well with routine communications. The 1/2 marathon was 21.1K and started at 0800ET. The first runners were back by 0920ET and it was all over by 1100ET. It was a great morning's outing.

MS Walk Report

Body:

MS walk went Sunday morning, the weather mostly behaved, we had a little rain part way through.
We met way too early. The walk did not kick off until 10:00 am. Next year we should meet at 09:15 or so.
Issues noted this year was the lack of signage for the 4k route within Lee Park, and the lack of a sweep volunteer. Also Jerry reported that the far end check point was short garbage bags (which I was able to deliver).
Lunch was provided. We cleared from the waterfront about 12:45 or so.
Thanks to Howard VE3GMG, Lori VE3LOR, Norm VE3NLH, Jerry VE3YO, and Bruce VA3BDR for helping out.
