Hello again;
The repeater was fine, the circuit breaker had tripped (for whatever reason), and the repeater had run on the backup battery for 48Hrs.
Needless to say, the battery was severely discharged. While I was checking out the repeater, it sat there on a 12A charge for over an hour.
I dropped the charge to 3A and will let it recover overnight, and then remove the charger and turn the APRS digi back on tomorrow.
Also a reminder that I wil be working on the hardware that powers the website this weekend, so you may find it unavailable at times.
Hello everyone;
I stopped at the repeater site tonight on the way home from work. No tools or meters with me, just thought it might be an easy fix.
There was no circuit breaker tripped, but there was no power on the outlets where we (and only we) are plugged in.
I plugged into another outlet and the repeater came to life, followed closely by a whiff of overheated something.
Needless to say, I wasn't sure if the smell was the charging circuit for the deep cycle battery, or the power supply of the repeater.
