Run off the Grid 2018

Body:

Run-Off-the-Grid is this Saturday, Sept 29, 2018.

Please bring a lunch as this has been difficult in the past
logistically. Dinner will be served at the start/finish. It is catered
by gd2go , and is always very, very good!

Please dress appropriately for the forecast weather (cool, chance of rain). Also, our hosts have encouraged an extremely environmental event and as such request that we bring our own mess kits for dinner. Plate, bowl, cup and utensils please :)

Signed up are:

VE3MAF, VA3PC, VE3KOJ, VE3LOR, VA3JGH, VA3CMX

2018 NBMCA Canoe Race - This Saturday

Body:

Hello fine people.
The NBMCA Canoe race is coming up on Saturday. We have two volunteers signed up. A few more would be really nice.
We need Checkpoint one - for a few hours in the morning (cross band repeat is a bonus for that location),
and Checkpoint three in the Provincial Park (until 17:00 or thereabouts). Chris VA3CMX has indicated he will do checkpoint two.
I'd like to meet at Tim's Seymour at 07:30.
If you can bring a lunch, Dinner will be provided at the Arena post race awards banquet.

Triathlon - 01 July - SMEAC

The SMEAC for the Triathlon this weekend is available on the club website.

The start time for the race we're assisting with is 09:30. There's a pre-event meeting at Olmstead Beach at 08:45.

Please use caution, as the Try-A-Tri will be underway when we're arriving for the main event.

If you can't access the SMEAC online, or if you have any questions, contact Bill Gibson VE3TGI at ve3tgi@gmail.com

Thanks to those who've signed up. Hope to see you all there!

2018 Hike for Hospice Thank-You

Body:

Hi All,
I would like to thank the following people for helping out at the third annual Hike for Hospice:

Drew VE3MAF, for manning the base station;

Keeling VE3XKB, Gerry VE3YO, Chris VE3YYB, Scott VA3EPZ, and Jim VE3JGH, for manning checkpoints;

and Paul VA3PC and Wanda VE3 KOJ, for being the rovers.

With your help, everyone made it out of the woods safely. The event raised well over $80,000 for Nipissing Serenity Hospice. The current plan is for the sod-turning ceremony to occur on June 15th of this year.
