1. Canadian Teen Radio Pirate Sentenced
A Canadian teen who set up an unlicenced radio station, and
threatened two Ottawa radio personalities and an Industry Canada
inspector, has been placed on 15 months probation. His equipment was
seized last year by Industry Canada.
Conditions of his probation are that the teen stay away from the
people he threatened, and not possess any radio transmitters or other

1. Nominations due for Hall of Fame
Nominations for the Canadian Amateur Radio Hall of Fame must be
received by the close of business on Friday, Sept. 30. This award
recognizes deserving Canadian amateur radio operators for outstanding
achievement and sustained service to Amateur Radio in Canada or to

1. Ontario Simulated Emergency Test
The Ontario province-wide Simulated Emergency Test (SET) will be
conducted on October 15th from 10:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00
Eastern Time. All ARES Groups are encouraged to participate in
Province-wide SET activities and pass traffic to the other ARES
Groups, RAC Officials and Government/Support Agencies throughout the
Province and the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre VE3EMO.

to use the following special event prefixes, to commemorate the
Centennial of Parks Canada, the world's first National Parks

1. Call for Nominations, Ontario South Director

The Secretary of Radio Amateurs of Canada Inc. hereby solicits
nominations for the positions of Director for the Regions of
Alberta/NWT/NU, Ontario South (postal codes L, M and N) and Quebec.
Elections for these positions will be held in October 2011 to take
office on January 1, 2012 for a two-year term.

1. RAC Section Restructuring Commission
Pursuant to RAC's Field Organization Review Project, and the regional
model adopted in May 2011, Radio Amateurs of Canada has formed a
Section Restructuring Commission. To best serve our membership, the
Commission will determine the most effective number of Section
Managers and other positions, and any further regional such divisions
which may be required. The final report is expected by November 2011,
with implementation in 2012.
