NBARC June 14th, 2017 Meeting Minutes
In Attendance; VE3MF, VA3PC, VE3KLX, VE3LOR, VE3YO, VE3YUI, VE3XKB, VA3BDR, VE3MAF, VE3TGI, VE3ATK, VE3DLL,
Called to order at 1932ET.
Treasurer; $4154.12 in bank. $42.16 outstanding bills. aprx $60.00 petty cash.
Correspondance; Triathalon, City re SiTP, Hospice walk brought in about $72,000.00.
Field Day; Due to a lack of interest not going to participate as a club this year. Motion to add Mattawa Conservation Authority as named insurer. Moved VE3TGI Second VE3YUI. Passed.
The NBARC June 2017 meeting is upon us. It is this coming Wednesday June 14th, 2017 at the OPP RHQ Community Boardroom - 911A Gormanville Rd. North Bay. The doors will open about 1915 ET (dependent upon when we finish dinner).
The WNSP-1 balloon was a success. Kelly is going to give a report and presentation. I'm sure she will be full of improvements and ideas for the 2018 season.
Patrick 4 Life went well. Lori will have a report.
CANWARN training went well. Paul will have a short report.
CANWARN Training is this coming Monday at 1830ET in the OPP Regional HQ Cathy Burns Training Room, 911A Gormanville Road. It is the same building that we hold our meetings in just a different room. Tis is fun and very informative. Please RSVP Geoff Coulson Geoff.Coulson@ec.gc.ca.
Its coming up, and we have to make a decision in the next week or so.
Right now we have only 3 people indicating interest in participating in Field Day.

The decision has to be made before the June meeting in order to do the planning, and secure the permits.

The WNSP-1 1st balloon launch went Friday May 26, 2017. It was very successful. 2 different trackers were used. Kelly will be doing a presentation at our June 14, 2017 meeting. Here are a few links.
Just FYI. The black flies are doing quite well this spring.

I wanted to thank everyone who participated in this event, specifically Paul VA3PC, Gerry VE3YO, Howard VE3GMG, Bill VE3TGI, Keeling VE3XKB and Drew VE3MAF. This was only the second time we have done this event and we are still working out the bugs. Please bring any suggestions for improvements to our May meeting. I know we can't control the weather (Snow in May!!!), but there are things we can change.
Extra thanks go to Bill for creating and printing out copies of the SMEAC document with map, and for picking up, setting up and returning the equipment used at our base.
